about this ebook

This technical SEO ebook covers plenty of topics to varying degrees, but we have to choose a single starting point for this report – so let’s take a look at 404 error codes. 404 errors are just one of many different status codes your website can return. What we loved:

Search Engine Journal does a great job organizing and structuring this very hefty SEO ebook. Despite the long page count and amount of info crammed in here, we found it easy to digest and even easier to get through. They avoid overly technical jargon for the most part, too. It keeps this book especially beginner-friendly compared to some other technical SEO resources out there.

What we didn't love:

This guide dates back to 2018 — which isn't all that long ago, but can be an eternity in terms of SEO. Luckily, as far as we can tell, the advice mostly holds up. There's also a quick ad tucked into the table of contents...not the end of the world, but a little tacky for our tastes.
